Cat Sender supplies signal to the gauge, which then displays on the dial. Cat Sending unit is located in the fuel tank. It consists of a float, usually made of foam, connected to a thin, metal rod. The end of the rod is mounted to a variable resistor which is then used to measure the fuel level.
