A Parking Brake is designed to fit in a drum brake that is mounted on the output shaft of the transfer case in the transmission. When the parking brake is engaged, the brake shoes are pressed against the inside of the drum, creating friction and preventing the output shaft from rotating. In transmission, the parking brake is typically located on the output shaft or the drive shaft.
