A snap ring is used in the bucket cylinder stick that is specifically designed to fit into a groove on a shaft or inside a bore to hold a component in place. Here the ring is used to secure the piston assembly in place within the cylinder. It is installed into a groove in the cylinder wall and holds the piston assembly in place while allowing it to move back and forth within the cylinder.
