A water pump is a component of the cooling system. Its function is to circulate coolant throughout the engine, helping to dissipate heat generated by the combustion process. It consists of a housing with an impeller inside, which is rotated by the belt and it creates a centrifugal force that draws coolant from the engine and pushes it through the radiator, where heat is exchanged with the surrounding air.
