A Cylinder Liner Shim is used at the liner flange in the Cylinder Block to adjust the height of the liner or compensate for wear and manufacturing tolerances. Shim is a thin, flat, circular piece of metal or plastic with a hole in the center that is used to distribute the load of a fastener, such as a bolt or a screw. A Shim can also be used as a spacer to adjust the distance between two objects or surfaces.
