The External Retainer Rings are used in planetary transmission units placed between shafts and housing plays a critical role in supporting and aligning the planetary gears within the transmission unit. The External retaining rings are used to secure the planet gears onto the planet carrier by fitting into grooves on the outside diameter of the planet gears.
