The Fan Drive Adapter mounted on the crankshaft pulley or one of the accessory pulleys and will spin in between the radiator and the engine, drawing air back through the radiator and blowing it over the engine. The increased distance helps to improve airflow through the radiator by reducing the amount of air turbulence created by the spinning fan blade.
