The Fan Drive V Belt, also known as the V-ribbed Belt or Serpentine Belt, is a critical part of the engine's accessory drive unit. The belt is routed around a series of pulleys and is kept in tension by a tensioner or idler pulley. As the engine runs, the belt rotates the pulleys, which in turn drives the accessories.
