A Stub Shaft is used to transmit torque and rotational power between two or more components in an assembly. It is typically a short, cylindrical shaft that is designed to fit into the crankshaft pulley. The Stub Shaft is responsible for transferring power from the engine crankshaft to the pulley, which in turn drives the fan drive pulley to regulate the speed of the engine cooling fan.
