A Locking Gas Spring is used to provide support and controlled movement for the Engine Hood assembly. The Spring assembly consists of a cylinder, piston, and piston rod in which the cylinder contains pressurized gas, and the piston is fitted with seals that prevent the gas from escaping or leaking. It also includes a locking mechanism that can be activated to hold the hood in a fixed position.
Attributes:
? Provided with a P1 force (static force) of 1150N to withstand the weight of heavy hoods and for stable support to the hood.
? Suitable to operate in a temperature range of -30° C to +80° C
? Provided with a stroke length of a minimum of 160mm to reduce the risk of the hood slamming shut.
? High strength and wear resistance.
Applications:
A Locking Gas Spring is used to support the hood by applying force to it and hold it in position in the Engine Enclosure, mostly used in CAT 910, 910K, 910M, 914, 914K, 914M, 916X, 918M, 920 and 920K Wheel Loader.
