An engine enclosure oil damper is a component installed in engine enclosures or generator sets to mitigate noise and vibrations generated by the engine. Its reservoir is filled with damping oil and a piston mechanism. When the Engine vibrates, the piston moves, causing the damping oil to flow through orifices or passages. The viscosity and design of the orifices create resistance, converting the kinetic energy of the vibrations into heat energy. This process dampens and reduces the amplitude and frequency of the vibrations, resulting in reduced noise and smoother operation of the engine or generator set.
