It reduces the effort required to operate the engine hood, making it easier for users to access the engine compartment and perform maintenance. Additionally, the Gas Spring prevents the hood from abruptly closing, thereby preventing potential damage to the hood and other components.

Application:
A Gas Spring, located on the right-hand side of the engine hood, is designed to withstand the harsh conditions of the engine compartment. It provides a lifting force and prevents the hood from hitting engine parts, this is mostly used in Cat 414E, 416E, 420E, 422E, 428E, 430E, 432E, 434E, 442E, 444E, 450E, and 450F Backhoe.
