A U-cup seal, also known as a U-ring seal, is a sealing device used in hydraulic cylinders. It is designed to provide effective sealing and prevent fluid leakage. It consists of a lip that is shaped like a U, with the open side of the U facing outward. This lip is responsible for creating the primary sealing action against the cylinder bore in the hydraulic cylinder. When the cylinder is pressurized, the lip is pushed against the mating surface, creating a tight seal.
