The Updraft Varifuel Mixer is designed to mix fuel and air in the correct proportions and deliver the mixture to the engine's cylinders for combustion and the Updraft Valve for the carburetor with a longer spring designed for the slower opening of the valve allows a leaner gas mixture at lower speeds. It is typically mounted on top of the engine's intake manifold, with the air and fuel mixture being drawn up into the engine's cylinders through the intake valves.
